This is the most versatile Emergency Flashlights you will ever come across. It's small enough to fit nicely in your shirt pocket or clip on the outside of your shirt or belt for instant use. The belt clip is quickly removable, although I never remove mine. I keep one of these lights clipped to my visor in my truck and one on the pack strap of my bug-out-bag. With one push of the on/off button two white LEDs come on for low light situations. You can push and hold the button again to turn it off or just tap it to go with all 6 white LEDs for higher light needs, one more tap gets you to four red LEDs for covert map reading or cockpit use and one more tap gives you continuous 6 white with 4 red for even more light, while another tap gets the 6 white and 4 red- all blinking together, another tap takes the flashlight into a continuous SOS pattern and one last tap takes it to an alternating 4 red- 6 white blinking mode. You can hold the on and off button in at any point in the sequence to turn off the light and the next tap takes you right back to the low light beginning mode again.
I use my Tactical III nearly everyday for some task and still have my 3 original triple AAA batteries in the one I use most. The battery power and light is all managed through the use of a small micro processor that keeps the light levels constant in whatever mode your in. If your in law enforcement, the alternating red and white mode will clear the roads or pull someone over when used at night in any vehicle you might be in. I would rather have this little giant of a flashlight then any other led type light I can think of. You just cannot get a better or more versatile flashlight for its size or its price. Someday it could easily save your life.
